Health and wellbeing

At St Paul’s Academy we prioritise the mental health and well-being of our entire school community, including students, staff and parents. We understand the significant impact mental health has on our daily lives, learning and success. While we can’t eliminate all challenges our students face, we provide them with access to support, helping them develop resilience, emotional intelligence and coping skills. To foster a supportive well-being culture, we offer a comprehensive mental health programme, including:

  • Safeguarding and Inclusion Team
  • Support Provisions (Wellbeing hub, Counselling, mentoring, Buddy Program)
  • The Ark
  • Online Safety initiatives
  • Tutor Time Programme

  • Whole-school wellbeing events and extra-curricular activities

We have established strong partnerships and collaborations with Colfe’s Independent School; Greenwich Leisure Limited; Royal Geographical Society; Peabody Housing Association; Youth Sports Trust; Duke of Edinburgh London Regional Team; Shooters Hill Sixth Form College; Dulwich Harps GAA; CTK Sixth Form College; Power Mobile Gym and University Education.  We also offer a wide variety of extra-curricular sporting fixtures as well as trips to museums, art galleries, Parliament, the Galleries of Justice, Kensington Palace, to name a few as well as residential trips abroad.

Expectations:

St Paul’s Academy is a Catholic school founded on the belief that each student is God’s work of art and is beautifully and wonderfully made by God in his image. We encourage students to live this out each day by sharing God’s love with everyone by showing respect and kindness. St Paul’s Academy is a community of welcome where each person is recognised and valued. A student at our academy is always ready for learning and values the school as an academic institution where their behaviour and attitude supports them to be an active, independent and motivated learner. Our classrooms are learning spaces where students feel safe and welcomed and where they feel challenged to achieve their very best. We have very high expectations of both our students and staff via our STEPS to Success visible consistencies, as we strive to provide the young people in our care with every  opportunity to succeed intellectually, socially and spiritually during their five year journey at St Paul’s.
